5th Annual Skate with a Legend Event
Along with Stephen Jones of Assante Financial Management, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region is embarking on the 5th Annual Skate with a Legend event. However, this year, two legends will be featured: Gary Leeman & Yvan Cournoyer. Leeman who had a 50 goal season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, may be best known for forming the “Hound Line” along with Wendel Clark and Russ Courtnall. He won the Stanley Cup in 1993 playing for the Montreal Canadiens. Cournoyer was a strong right winger with the Montreal Canadiens from 1963-1979. Nicknamed the “roadrunner” for his small size and blasing speed, he earned his spot in Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982. Cournoyer was named captain of the Canadiens in 1975 and among many impressive stats, he has 10 Stanley Cups to his name. Now retired, Leeman & Cournoyer will be strapping on their skates in support of Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, November 4th, 2010.
This multi-facet event consists of a public skate (4:30-5:20pm), autograph session (5:30-6:30pm) and a chance to get up close and personal with the legends at the VIP meet & greet (7:00-7:45pm). The public skate and autograph session will take place at the Kitchener Auditorium in the Dom Cardillo arena. The skate is free with a donation to Habitat. The autograph session is $10/item. Photos and pucks will also be for sale at this time. Tickets to guarantee your admission into the skate are available at the Waterloo ReStore, 120 Northfield Drive East, Waterloo. To learn more about how you can book your spot for the VIP meet and greet, call Clive at 519-590-4008.
